I, Ruth recently came across a worm bin. Yes. A worm bin! This idea was intriguing. Me and child watched the worm bin demonstration. It was explained that the worms can eat the paper from my shredder and subsequently make dirt. I can then use the dirt for my plants. I, Ruth thought – how great is that! A sort of ‘worm farm’ or ‘pet project’ that seemed ideal for me and child to work on! In my excitement to be eco-friendly – I, Ruth made the purchase. We took worm bin home. We kept the environment moist and added the shredded paper as needed. I realized with this task and something that I had forgotten as a child. I, Ruth do not like worms. I, Ruth will not even put a worm on a hook to fish. What do I do with the worms? Child has forgotten the worms already. I am stuck with these worms? Lesson learned on this is my choices to go green should really be something than can be done in stride with my lifestyle and I know for certain that my lifestyle does not include worms. Nasty creepy worms! I am undecided in the fate of my worms. I will probably let them go. Or better yet – I can give them to Corey for a birthday present. Environment wins, Ruth wins, Worms win and Corey has a birthday present!
Happy Birthday Corey!
